This artwork began with my own painted fabric, without any preliminary sketch.
I responded instinctively to the colors, shapes and atmosphere that emerged.
As I worked, I began to see a deep and mysterious forest, with small areas of yellow suggesting flowers or perhaps light breaking through the darkness.
The forest became a place of imagination rather than a description of an actual landscape.
I enjoy creating works that suggest something familiar without explaining everything.
