Sea Memory

Sea Memory

This piece began with a painted surface and a gentle spiral movement.

I was interested in the way water, time and memory seem to overlap.

The soft colours and changing forms suggested something that had been carried, altered and gradually left behind.

I chose to preserve the original direction of the painted composition and keep the stitching subtle.

To me, Sea Memory is less about the sea itself than about the impressions that remain with us.
