This is an earlier artwork, created in 2006, and it has a very different visual character from many of my recent pieces.
The strong blues, silvery surfaces and contrasting forms suggest the opposing forces of fire and ice.
I have always been fascinated by the energy that can develop through contrasts in colour and texture.
Although this work comes from an earlier stage of my career, I think it shares something important with my more recent art: an interest in movement, transformation and the forces that shape our surroundings.
